Dr. Carl Howard is a professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering, at the University of Adelaide.
Dr. Howard is the group leader of the Acoustics, Vibration and Control research group.

Background

Prof. Carl Howard is a researcher, teacher, and consultant in the School of Mechanical Engineering, at The University of Adelaide. He was awarded first class honours for a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, in the area of active vibration and noise control. He has worked as an acoustic and vibration consultant for Vipac Engineers and Scientists (Adelaide), and Colin Gordon and Associates (San Francisco, USA), as a senior FEA consultant for Worley, and as a noise and vibration task leader at United Technologies Research Center (Hartford, Connecticut, USA).

 

Sound surrounds us 24x7. It is fascinating that sound can bring joy, communication, irritation, alarm, helpful, be ignored... it all depends on how we decide to interpret it.
